The Medal of Appreciation Awarded to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Prince of the Asian Youths The Program “My King and My Homeland on the Top” was launched in Indonesia, The Asian Bust, specifically from the top of Mountain Ponshak coinciding with organizing the Second Asian Paragliding Championship and the Test Event for Asian Games 2018.
The Program was inaugurated under the patronage of His Excellency Osama Mohammad Abdullah Alshuaibi, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Indonesia, with the presence of Mr. Eric Tohir, Chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee, General Iris, Secretary General of the Supreme Committee for Asian Games, Dr. Mubarak Al-Suwailem, President of the Air Sports Federation of Asia and General Supervisor of the Program My King and the Homeland on the Top, Mr. Harry Wanagaru Secretary General of the Indonesian Olympic Committee and Mr. Wahyo Yudha Director of the 2nd Asian Paragliding Championship and the Asian Games, Lt. Colonel Saud Alfughm International Relations Officer and Representative of HRH Prince Turki bin Muqrin bin Abdul Aziz, Chairman of the Board and the Members of Board of Directors of Saudi Air Sports Federation Board of Directors of the Air Sports Federation of Asia (ASFA), Heads of delegations of the countries participating in the championship and the Kingdom’s Paragliding Team and all the participating pilots and a large number of Saudi and Gulf citizens who were enjoying their vacation on Mountain Ponshak.
The ceremony began with Ambassador Osama Al-Shuaibi by decorating the medals of My King and My Homeland on the Top on the chest of the
Chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee, Secretary General of the Supreme Organizing Committee for Asian Games as well as Secretary
General of the Indonesian Olympic Committee and handing over the pamphlets presenting the ideas and objectives of the Program. And then H.E. the Ambassador signaled the Saudi Team to fly with the flag of the Kingdom and the Logo of My King and My Homeland on the Top over the Mountain Ponshak.
H.E. the Ambassador also expressed his gratitude for the approval of the ASFA Board of Directors awarding the Medal of Appreciation to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, in recognition of his efforts in supporting air sports in Saudi Arabia and Asia, a highly valued medal awarded to those who have made outstanding efforts to support the Asian air sports practitioners.
Ambassador Osama AlShuaibi said: “The launch of the My King and My Homeland on the Top Program at the Mountain Ponshak in Indonesia is a message that reflects the deep relationship between the two brotherly countries. It is a message of pride and loyalty to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman, as the leader of the Muslim nation. And a message of pride of our dear country, the Kingdom; a land of the message and the cradle of civilizations.
He added: awarding His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Salman with Asian Medal of Appreciation is a recognition of HRH efforts and a proof of his love and appreciation among the Asian air sports youth.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mubarak Al-Suwailem, President of the Air Sports Federation of Asia (ASFA) said that The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman (may Allah protect him) is of course in the heart of every Saudi citizen, and our today’s celebration of the Program in Indonesia is only a confirmation of how our brothers in Asia are appreciating Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Kingdom and its sons. The ASFA is proud to organize this celebration in conjunction with the 2nd Asian Paragliding Championship.
He further explained that awarding Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Salman with Asian Medal of Appreciation was the desire of the Board of Directors of ASFA to honor a leading Asian figure with the statesmanship and the position of HRH Prince Mohammed Bin Salman in recognition of his support for the air sports in Asia.
Al-Suwailem thanked His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, President of the Saudi Air Sports Association for his support and follow-up of this Program. He also thanked the Saudi Olympic Committee and His Excellency Ambassador Osama Al Shuaibi for his courtesy to patronage and presence to launch the Program.
Mr. Erik Tohir, Chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee commented saying that “Prince Mohammed bin Salman is the prince of young Asian and the best example of struggle and achievement for the youth in Asia, and we expect a lot of support from him for the youths’ sports activities in Asia”.
It is worth mentioning that the Program “My King and My Homeland at the Top” is a program that aims to glorify the Custodian of the Two Holy
